'O' Level Chinese

Yeah!! 'O' Level Chinese Paper 1 and 2 finally over...
Well it wasn't that bad, except when I forgot how to 造 the phrase 怯场.
Paper 1 the 报章报道 was exactly the same as the one in the composition book we bought a month ago.... damn!! should have paid more attention to the contents of that book.... Luckily I browsed through this morning, so could still remember certain points.
Well, at last we can say that our holidays have started... but then again, what are holidays?? To teachers, it means: doing homework / mugging / studying in your own pace. To our History 2158 teacherm it means sleeping 8 hours a day, 12 hours of study and 4 hours for breakfast, lunch, tea-break, dinner, supper and bathing.... gosh!.... students nowadays have no life..........

I edited my blog again. The full text of the disclaimer has been taken off, replaced by a link which onclick, popups a alert stating the disclaimer. Also the disclaimer has been revised.
A blog search engine form, from Technorati has been added.
Visible counter stats has been taken off as I found no point of announcing the number of visitors to the online community. Blogs are supposed to be personal and not driven by the number of visitors.
The blog song has also been changed. Now playing Rascal Flatts :Bless The Broken Road.

It will be 2 more days before going back to school for lessons again. Going to rest well this 2 days. Supposed to go back to school tomorrow for chinese oral practice but it is set too late in the evening, at 5pm to 6pm.... Don't think I will be going.

Finally got the Fabric of the Nation project done with. Supposed to be due last friday. But one of the group members never print out the photos. Another did not bring the required materials. Thus we had to drag until today, but **** (p.s. that's not the 'f' word) , the school printer just refused to work... In the end had to hand in the thumbdrive instead. Now lets hope our english teacher will accept that.

Channel 5 showing Men In Black (MIB) tonight. Dunno how many times AXN has showed it.
Well, I'm gonna watch it anyway!

LAst dAy Of ScHooL

YES!! It's the last day of school.. although I don't really feel that elated. Time and time again we were reminded about our chinese 'O' levels which is in 3 days time... How can we forget..

Career talk today...
oh boy!! there is no way I am going to be a lawyer unless there is some freak incident that force me to alter my career path... Yes, a laywer's worst nightmare is when your client sues you. But I really feel that the worse thing about being a lawyer is knowing your client is actually guilty especially in cases of murder but you are there, pleading the judge to reduce a sentence that your client derserved (Although no democratic country should be metting out the capital punishment as stated in the United Nations Charter about Human Rights) Thus, I would never want to put myself in that situation. However, I am not saying that being a lawyer is bad. It is indeed a very noble profession. It is just that I don't feel noble enough to take on that role.

In Geography today, our teacher dropped a bombshell... he will be leaving us to the hands of another teacher before our prelims are here. Exactly what just happened?! It seems like the department has taken him off for a reason, which he has refused to tell us. We will just have to see what happens then... For now, let us concentrate on our 'O' Levels.

American Idol results were out yesterdy. Carrie Underwood, by far Judge Simon Cowell's favourite has won. Bo Bice did not look too diasppointed. Well he too had wlked away with a brand new red mustang. And sooner or later, a recording deal will come his way. For now, let's just wait for Carrie's single to be released.

Countdown till the last!

Countdown to chinese 'O's... which is in 4 days time....
Whats worse, tomorrow got Parents-Teacher Meeting... so dreadful and a waste of time... only good thing that comes out of it is that we get the day off from school... sort of an early holiday for our students although friday is still a normal school day...

Still doing a spot of editing for my blog.... If you look around, you will find that I have edited the disclaimer. Also, the 'no right click' script has been taken away.
New links like BlogShares and Tomorrows.sg can be found under the listing section.
The site is now licensed under a creative common license. to view the license follow the link under 'copyright info' at the side. Also, i added more new quotes to be randomly generated... mostly from Albert Einstein.

The same old drugdery of School today .... very sianz.... All 9 subjects gave homework.... but nobody really cares... All worried about the chinese 'O's.
Had to see the school dentist today... was playing with the puzzles in the magazine found in the mobile dentist unit... it was fun.... One picture got us stunned... counld not find the diffferences

Caught American Idol Finals Live Telecast on Star World this afternoon... It was a tough fight....
Bo Bice really rocked!!! Carrie Underwood wasn't too shabby either.... omg... her vocals are powerful... very, very powerful... Although I got to agree with Simon Cowell, two of her songs were really strained. You could feel that she had maxed out. Any higher and she would have gone off tuned. Well, we'll just have to see the results tomorrow.....

Vesak Day Holiday + Changes to blog

Happy Vesak Day to all!!

Stressed out at studying, so decided to blog... haha... I know this is a bit lame.
Well anyway, did some changes to my layout. Most notable difference is the blog title which I took out. Found it a bit pointless and a waste of space. Took off the analog clock too.
Added the Random quote script below. Took me a while to figure out how to get it working as this is the first time I didn't want to take it off dynamicdrive or other similar sites.
Under Profile, you can find a disclaimer of the site. Decided to add it due to the recent newspaper reports and controversy over blog users' comments. The most recent case was that of the A*Star scholar. Figured out it would be safer to introduce one (the disclaimer).
Haiz...tagboard seems a bit dead. Though there are still visitors to this site, not many bother to tag.

Went to watch StarWars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith the other day with my parents. The show was really action packed. You'll marvel at the graphic and the special effects especially half of the scenes in the show were all computer generated. The lightsaber fight between Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker was intense. The scenes were realistic. Lucky there weren't "blood splattering" scenes. If not, with technology that makes everything so realistic, the show is bound to be classified as NC-16, or worse M-18.

Anywayz, to all those people out there, especially those reading my blog, Happy Vesak Day! And to all those students taking 'O' Level Chinese next week, Happy Mugging (including myself) !!Haha!!

Good!

Yes... finally!! can enter into MSN, hotmail, Blogger etc...
Looks like it was Starhub's Cable problems.... It was in the newspapers this morning... one of their undersea cables got damaged and thus led to problems connecting to overseas sites like these.
Led to so much inconvinence... till now still have some problems reading my mail...
Surfing speed went down by a margin.
Traceroutes show a significant slowdown but I can't complain. At least this is better than not being able to access at all. Brings me back to the time when I was still using dial-up.
Countdown to Chinese 'O' Levels. One more week to go.. taking a little time off now. Have to cover at least two 手册 by this Monday. Dunno how am i going to do that....

Anyway, most probably going to catch Star Wars; Revenge of the Sith today.
Oh no.... got kicked out of MSN messenger again. Haiz....
Better post this first... b4 my connection gets cut off again and lose this entry.

I'm Back!!

wow!! I'm back at blogger!!

Decided to maintain two blogs instead....
My URL at http://gyjz.sepwich.com/gyeojz will now be my second blog...
this blogger blog account will remain my primary blog. Google servers are definately more stable..
However, I really like sepwich. I daresay it is one of the best free hosts. Will take it as an experience. The satisfaction gained from uploading my own blog programme, the open-source system - movable type and to get it running smoothly is very rewarding.

the redirection service URL http://www.gyeojz.co.nr will be linked back to this site intead of my movable type blog. However, entries to both sites will be syncronised unless it is for the specific blogging accounts only.

Also, now I am running a class forum at the request of the class chairman
the URL is http://www.forums-ot.co.nr
seeing hows the response from the class.

The previous entry about "Life of a Teenager in Singapore" is the actual text from our school project "Fabric of the Nation".

To all visitors, welcome back to this site!!

Life of a Teenager in Singapore

It has been a hectic week. I woke up this morning with great reluctance, dragging my drained body and mind off the bed, consoled by the knowledge that tomorrow is a weekend – the only day where I can rest. I looked outside. It was raining heavily. Like Heaven’s way wiping away the many beads of perspiration and heave a sigh of relief.

It was not long before I found myself, on my way to school. Traffic slowed down, stopping short of a massive jam. The bus crept along slowly, reaching school after more than half an hour.

Walking pass the school gates, you will get a feeling that is similar to what you will feel when you walk into a prison compound, wondering whether you will survive and see the light of the day again.

Assembly was over in the blink of an eye. Lessons started as teachers got down into the drudgery of teaching, droning on, monotonously about a particular topic.

The recess bell soon rang. It could not have come at a better time. It was the only time of the school day when we can refresh ourselves as well as feed our hungry stomachs. It was also a time to engage in a conversion with my friends. Conversations never failed to revolve around television shows or movies. One thing for certain, its never about homework. However, all good things must come to an end. The recess bell rang again for the second time, ending the recess break.

No! Tests, tests and more tests! Do we really need that much tests? Do teachers know that more tests mean more stress? Then again, it is our only form of practice.

The last lesson of the day arrived. The class was “half-dead”, or to some, the class was “half-alive”. The silence was deafening, especially for a usually hyperactive class like ours. Some did not even make the effort to listen, surrendering to the heavy eyelids of theirs, only to be jerked awake by the teacher. Others were making a tremendous effort to stay attentive although many were failing miserably.

The bell rang again, this time signaling the end of school. Students were rushing out of the class and to “freedom” like a herd of raging bulls. Not to lose out, I joined them. Leaving a few stragglers behind, eating our dust.
